Well Come On In!

Exciting news my MARtians! Many of you have asked a version of the following question via e-mail, Twitter, or Facebook: “When can we come visit your home and have a peek inside?” Well, I’m happy to announce that a date has been set.

This week I received word that my home, Rosebrook Gardens, will be on the 27th Annual Holiday House Tour sponsored by The Westport Historical Society. (In fact, I was also asked to volunteer as this year’s Honorary Chairman for this prestigious event!)

The theme of this year’s tour will be Celebrating a New England Christmas and will feature all the festive touches that represent the magic of the holiday season. Each year, five distinctive homes within Fairfield County are selected to be open to the public and available for tours.

The tour price includes access to all five homes – which will each be decorated for the holidays – and can be purchased either in advance or at whichever of the homes you want to visit first. Scheduled this year for December 8th,any one 2013, the timing could not be better as my new book LIFE ON MAR’S, Creating Casual Luxury hits national bookstores just months before.

But as readers of my blog, you have access to a special offer. I’m also announcing today, anyone who purchases a copy of my new book LIFE ON MAR’S, Creating Casual Luxury through either Barnes&Noble or Amazon.com prior to December 8th will have a “free” access to enter my home the day of the tour! Your copy will act as your ticket at the door. Once inside, you will witness how my six core design principles come to life. One entry per book, so make sure you buy several if you decide to travel in a group. (At a price less than twenty dollars it’s a good excuse to get one for yourself and stock up for the holidays, too!)

When you are done with your house tour, you can join me in my Garden Studio, where I will personally autograph your book and answer any questions you may have. (This special access applies to my home only. Should you want to continue touring the other four homes on the tour you will still require a ticket.)

The Westport Historical Society, founded in 1889, is an educational organization dedicated to preserving, presenting and celebrating the history of Westport, Connecticut. It is committed to increasing awareness of the importance of preserving our town’s heritage and its historic buildings and landmarks.

Learn more about the Holiday House Tour by visiting Westport Historical Society’s website www.westporthistory.org and stay posted here for all the details about your “Free with Purchase” visit by being in touch. Why not spread the word and encourage others to join my mailing list, check out my blog, and follow me on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.

Being an honorary chair is so exciting I needed a chair to sit in to process it all! I’ve got lots of holiday décor ideas to unfold so I’ll be skipping Halloween and Thanksgiving to get ready for your visit. See you on the tour!
