One of the things that make me happiest is creating: creating spaces that personify my Casual Luxury brand. That said, over the last year I have been on assignment hired by my client to transform a 1950’s bungalow into a show place with the goal of taking your breath away on arrival.
This once depressed, run-down home was in a desperate need for a makeover. I was more than happy to take the torch and offer my services and survival skills to do it. When I first started on this project I nicknamed the place “Jurassic Park” due to the abandoned indoor pool and forest growing inside. But as I worked on it and got to know it’s strengths I called it “Greystone”, named to capture the soft grey colors and the stone used on the patio.
With the help of my trusty sidekick Yvonne we took on this assignment with great pride and excitement. Our approach was simple: we would reach out far and wide and partner with some of the most talented people and companies that represent our great state of Connecticut. The task was huge, given the scale of the project, but with a tremendous amount of dedication and drive we set out to create what we have branded as the ETHAN ALLEN Designer Show House.
This show house is the best of the best resources under one roof. Each dynamic partner went beyond the scope to showcase their skillset, services and dedication to this makeover project. And of course the cameras were rolling every minute along the process to capture it all. The big reveal will show a Casual Luxury home that never sacrifices quality or style to achieve it. There is no status in overpaying, so there are improvements and upgrades at every price point. And we do it so we all have something very proud to present to you all.
Here are some of the amazing people and companies who have made it possible: ETHAN ALLEN, Chloe Winston Lighting, Karen Berkemeyer Home, Nuheat Flooring, Westport Glass, Cabinets to Go, Lifetronic Systems, CONTROL4/ Smart Home technology, Marsillos Appliance & TV and one of our smallest detail yet the most powerful Mr. Mailbox.
This collaboration is now ready for viewing as of this Monday when this designer show house goes officially on the MARket.
Greystone, located at 3663 Congress Street, Fairfield, CT will offer several opportunities for a visit and or tour.
As my MARtians I offer you a special VIP party scheduled for September 5th from 5-9pm. The lights, camera and local supporters will be on hand, as will I to tell the story of the evolution of this amazing home that went from drab to fab in just under a year.
