30 days and counting! Soon hundreds of people from all over the state and surrounding areas will visit my home, Rosebrook Gardens. They’ll all witness for themselves what LIFE ON MAR’S is all about, as the chapters from my book on Casual Luxury principles unfold right before their very eyes.
So ‘Team MAR’ has been busy as the countdown begins for this year’s Westport Historical Society: The Mar Jennings Classic Christmas House Tour, scheduled on December 8th from 11-4pm. Mine is one of five beautiful homes on the tour. The others are a Georgian Colonial redolent of Golden Age Hollywood, a Federal show house with touches of Old World grace, a classic 1920’s Colonial given a rebirth of antique chic, and a tiny log cabin that sprouted into an Adirondack manse.
I know I’m not the only house getting ready. I’ve been very busy coordinating painters, carpenters, and even landscapers to help me make Rosebrook Gardens sparkle for the tour. Once the decorating begins I think Bing Crosby would be proud. As the official featured home for Terrain of Westport, I partnered with their talented team of professionals designers to deck the halls, the trees and the tabletops with the classic greenery and garden décor that is synonymous with my own personal style. A match made in heaven, I say.
I’m so fortunate that my neighbors are getting into the tour, too. Across the street they’re hosting a mini-tour and serving up some yummy hot chocolate. Next door will be a pop-up Terrain store. Also awaiting guests will be my own book signing in the garden studio, classic carolers on the street, and a special holiday-themed surprise. Tick tock, tick tock! Purchase your tickets now!
