Designer Show House News! Ethan Allen Goes to Mar’s!

Hello my MARtians!  I was so excited to announce last week on all my social media channels my partnership with ETHAN ALLEN for four MARvelous episodes of season 3 for The Home Makeover Show.   That said, my new listing, Greystone, located at 3663 Congress St, is an all-new & improved home located in the delightfully historic Greenfield Hill area of Fairfield, Connecticut. The perfect backdrop for our 2019 Designer Show House. This completely renovated home was a year in the making, and completely documented for the makeover show—it is ready to become a casual luxury home.

Truth be told, when it came to staging and designing this 4,400 square foot home I did not have to look very far to discover a new and exciting resource that also happens to be globally known yet based right in Connecticut. (Love that!) Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. is a leading interior design company and manufacturer and retailer of quality home furnishings. They offer complimentary interior design service to their clients and sell a full range of furniture and decorative accessories through ethanallen.com and a network of approximately 300 Design Centers in the United States and abroad. Wow right? Operating headquarters are located right in Danbury, Connecticut.  The easiest part of the decision? Knowing that approximately 75% of their products are made in their North American plants. Home run–I was in!

Greystone is an expansive modern bungalow that brings the past of 1950’s to 2019 with attention to details, craftsmanship and well appointed rooms that are both purposeful and relevant for today’s discerning homeowner. We hit it out of the park as we completely renovated and rebuilt this home from the top to bottom while incorporating a sophisticated, timeless style that offers great space and beautifully appointed rooms with great appeal and function. The one-floor living blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor rooms.  The team at ETHAN ALLEN worked closely with me to bring casual luxury to life with color and texture and of course lots of representations of Mother Nature.

My classic rendering illustrations that I use to brand the properties always solidify the vibe and the vision of the exterior of the home, and the name punctuates the feelings of the location and design of the home. “Greystone” as a name represents both the native gray Connecticut tone that is so prevalent throughout the property, and the grey that harmoniously connects the elements of nature and color choices.

This Tuesday the huge ETHAN ALLEN trucks arrive to unload the hand selected pieces that will make this house a home.  The perfect collaboration and vision now will come to life right before our very eyes. Can’t wait to see it! And don’t worry: the cameras will be rolling to capture the excitement while documenting the final transformation.

That tuned for exciting photos that will be out of this wold–but right at home on Mar’s!
