Black Beauty

Hello MARtians, and Happy Fourth of July week!

Black Beauty is a classic 19th-century novel by Anna Sewell, about a lovely black horse who found a forever home after many travails. Well, after traveling from all the way from Houston, Texas, my own Black Beauty is now parked at Rosebrook Gardens. Yes, I have a new car! My last car was, believe it or not, a MARs red Mercedes convertible.  That is the real name of the color! But now the planets realigned, and Mercedes is in retrograde.  After weeks of looking, many test drives, and much discussion, my new autoMARbile as I like to call it is the completely new and redesigned Porsche 718 Boxster! She is courtesy of New Country Porsche in Greenwich, CT, and Karina Zaleska, my very resourceful, and dedicated salesperson! When all others failed, she delivered.  I strongly recommend her to anyone in the market for a new luxury car.

I love a convertible, for summer fun, but I chose black this time – a little more sleek, a little more sexy, polished and of course, sophisticated. The lines of the new Boxster were based on the design of Porsche’s famous 550 Spyder, bringing a retro charm to the profile.   Watch for me, and the Von Schnorkenheimer ladies, with the wind in our hair…and ruffling our whiskers.

I’ll miss my MARs red MARcedes; it was a fun ride…but my new UFO is ready. New adventures await; who knows what’s just around the corner? And when you have a turbocharged, four-cylinder engine delivering 300 horsepower matched with superlative steering and handling in your grip, those adventures will be here in 4.1 seconds.
