Welcome back my MARtians!
Well, you already know about my “Casual Luxury“ philosophy and design principals that became the foundation for my new book LIFE ON MAR’S, Creating Casual Luxury. The book showcases how I bring it to life in my home, Rosebrook Gardens. Now I get to bring it all to life for someone else: a client in Westport, CT. The first top-to-bottom Mar Jennings Casual Luxury Home (other than my own, that is) will be unveiled this Fall, and the work is underway. I will oversee a complete transformation as I take on this exciting project – interiors and exteriors, including renovation, restoration, and construction.
Feel you’re missing out? No worries, as each detail of the transformation will be documented for a half-hour TV show that will air next Spring. More to come on that, later.
This lovely family home will get a makeover both inside and out, and my job is to make sure that each tradesperson, contractor, painter and professional will be in sync with the vision. The completed project’s deadline is November 1st. I’m hand-picking the best, based on their experience, reputation, and results. No doubt we will have some fun, but most importantly we will be taking a well-appointed home in an historic area of Westport and giving it modern day updates while embracing the craftsmanship and design of the past.
In the coming weeks, I’ll also be finalizing a name for the home itself, something I am collaborating on with the family; it will be one that reflects them, their passions and beautiful home. It will also serve as the name for the project.
But right now I need your help to decide upon the name for the TV show. Here is a list of ideas; which is your favorite?
