I love a good martini, don’t you?
Recently, I discovered limoncello makes the perfect secret ingredent in another cocktail. Feeling inspired, I wondered if I could incorporate this delicious liquer into a martini–thus tranforming it into a MAR-tini. So, even though the martini has been around for decades, I would like to contribute my version to the vast array of martini recipes that already exist. I think mine is especially cool and refreshing. I hope you like it.
What you will need for this recipe:
- Martini shaker
- Fresh Mint
- One fabulous lemon
- Lemon Juice
- Granulated sugar
- Limoncello
- Vodka (any vodka will do, use your favorite brand)
Rim a martini glass with sugar. To do this, put some sugar on a small plate, then run a slice of lemon around the rim of the glass to moisten it. Dip the rim of the martini glass in the sugar. This is the same procedure as if rimming with salt for a margarita.
Fill a shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
Add:
Two parts limoncello
Two parts vodka
Half part lemon juice
Depending on how tart or sweet you prefer your new MAR-tini, simply adjust the lemon juice and/or limoncello.
Shake well and strain into the rimmed glass. Garnish with a circle slice of lemon. For that signature MAR look, place a large mint leaf under the lemon slice on the inside of the glass.
Always drink responsibly and remember:
One MAR-tini, two MAR-tini, three MAR-tini”_”_FLOOR!!
And there you have it.
