I like to say that you can’t get MARried without MAR, so on Wednesday morning, I was a correspondent for the FoxCT morning news, interviewing the three finalist couples for this year’s Dream Wedding. Over 200 entries led us to the final three couples: Ali & Jared, Alice & Reza, and Madison & Chris.
So I put on my blue suit and arrived at Bell Terrace at Avon Old Farms ready for a live hit and reveal. I was so excited for the assignment, and after over ninety-three thousand votes, we were ready to announce the winning couple. Rebecca Whiting, last year’s winner, was also on hand to help navigate the couple through all their questions. Logan Burns, the anchor for the morning news, helped me announce the winning couple. And the winners are…
Ali and Jared, from New Britain, CT.
I was so proud to witness their excitement, and now that they have been revealed we begin to plan all the final details leading up to the live wedding on April 13th.
When I think about how we’ll film them during their journey, I know how much time I’ll get to spend with them, and I look forward to getting to know Ali and Jared better. This young couple is so sweet together, and so good together, too. Manners count with me–no surprise that Ali spent time at Disney as Cinderella! And so obviously in love–there’s nothing like young love, and the way Jared looks at her tells it all. They might have only just won this year’s Dream Wedding, but I’m optimistic that just like last year’s winners Jason and Rebecca they, too, will become new, long-lasting friends. I guess you can say each year when Fox announces the winner of their Dream Wedding I smile inside, too, feeling extra lucky knowing that I’m also “Winning” the opportunity to make two wonderful new friends.
