A British Thanks

Hello from the Cotswolds in the UK!  All the views and sights appear to be straight out of Downton Abbey, a PBS special, or an Agatha Christie Miss Marple novel. As I enjoy a break from the city of London for Thanksgiving, I find myself surrounded by beauty: Rolling hills of the countryside, sheep grazing the land, wisteria covered stone cottages and villages packed with history and charm.

This Thanksgiving is like no other both in location and responsibilities. My only task: to create a festive floral arrangement using the resources of the land/garden(s). I was excited to find a pumpkin so of course my pumpkin centerpiece bouquet will be gracing the table. Thirteen distinguished guests tonight, including some aristocracy–will surely make for an interesting conversation and dinner.

I write this blog with excitement as I must change now to proper dinner attire.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll start with a special thanks to my gracious and generous host here; and then, as always to you and your family: thank you for the many wonderful years of support.

Cheers!
