It’s Good To Be Square

When the weather outside gets frightful, the clothing layers become delightful. My style kicks into high gear with cashmere sweaters, wool sport coats, and fabulous cords. Although I’m not one for the cold, I try to make the best of it, and one way is by adding a pop of color and sophistication to my look. If you’ve seen me on TV or met me in person, you know how much I love to dress up, and when I do you can always count on a good-looking pocket square to bring the look together.

Truth be told, there is no better way for a man to update a tired sport coat or suit than with a great pocket square. This week I discovered a wonderful resource for my ever-growing collection. Men’s Wearhouse! Yup, for under $15 (less than a bagged lunch in New York City) that I can pick up a modern, new pocket square! And with a huge selection both in stores or online I could not resist picking up these MARvelous 100% silk treasures.

Great look right? (And yes, being a lifestyle expert I do have my own mannequin forms at home.) This rocking look offers the much-needed layers for the season as well as a modern, stylish gentleman’s look. Perfect for tonight’s dinner at The Whelk.

Let me break it all down for you:

Blazer: Brooks Brothers – with working buttons (an extra charge for the tailoring, but so well worth it).

Shirt: Men’s Wearhouse – yup, a 100% cotton fitted shirt on sale for $50.

Suede Vest: Allen Edmonds – on sale now! A classic look that will last a lifetime.

Pocket Square: Men’s Wearhouse – the steal of them all: $9.99!

So this week was all about layers, and the finishing touches that a classic pocket square can offer a forever-growing man’s wardrobe. So you see it’s good to be square, especially when you can do it for less.
