This past Sunday’s Christmas-themed house tour was a huge hit! This year the Westport Historical Society embraced the season by introducing a “Classic New England Christmas” theme for the house tour. And for the first time ever, we expanded outside of Westport to include amazing homes in Fairfield and Easton.
The results were outstanding: attendance set new records! (According to the police, my home, Rosebrook Gardens, received over 500 visitors!) As honorary chair, I’m so proud that our vision for an outstandingly memorable event has come true.
The official after party at terrain of Westport set a new standard for how to celebrate as a community–and in such a holiday-themed environment; every person in attendance left even more in the spirit, thanks to the host location and staff. Not to mention the lucky winners of the silent and live auctions! Talk about “gifted”–the items created several great bidding wars. Big thanks to all the vendors and patrons who donated the coveted treasures.
Tis the season for success, and bravo to the entire team for a job well done, from homeowners to docents to neighbors to year-long volunteers. now I’m ready to settle down (with my schnauzer) for my long winter’s nap.
