An Eye For Gardening

TGIF, MARtians!

I love the weekend. It is one of the few times in the week where I can sit still, put my feet up and read and enjoy my schnauzer. The Sunday New York Times is a must, but I also love to shop for something to read from my own library of tomes. I have a lot of wonderful, beautiful books. Little known fact about me: I love to collect books!

I’m a fan of many genres – classics to glossy picture books – they all have a place in my home. But, truly as an author, I scrutinize books carefully. When I find an uplifting inspiring book, I can’t help grabbing it for my ever-growing library and of course, share it with my MARtians.

Speaking of MARtian-worthy books, Stacy Bass is a local Westport friend who has included my Rosebrook Gardens in her first book. She has a beautiful new book, Gardens at First Light – her 2nd – about gardens and even though my gardens are not in it, I’m still beyond excited to read and enjoy and be inspired.

Stacy Bass provides a perspective that only a real professional photographer can offer. Plus, she is no stranger to my home or garden. She took many of the breathtaking photos featured in my books.

If you have a chance and want to see what I’m talking about, check out her books on Amazon. Her books are also available at bookstores nationwide, and so are mine. Don’t forget if you have yet to own my books Life on Mar’s: A Four Season Garden and Life on Mar’s: Creating Casual Luxury, you can pick up a copy while you’re perusing for Stacy’s latest.

Enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty this weekend along with a good book and two great authors. I love Stacy and I’m sure you will too – and as always”_

Keep it casual!
