Inspired by Dancing

I’m so excited about this weekend, MARtians! I am proud to be a judge in Fairfield’s Dancing With the Stars Event – A Chance to Dance. Sorry, tickets are already sold out, but I’ll be sure to keep you updated about the event and of course the winner. Keep an eye on your social media accounts and keep reading to see how you, too, can get involved to help the charity which will benefit.

I was invited to participate in this event last year and was so sad to have to miss it with my busy filming schedule. I missed watching a state senator, local clergy, a Realtor and a high-end builder bust out their moves. I am honored that they thought of me again this year. I believe my experience as a four-time Regional and Sectional gold medal winning figure skater had something to do with the invitation.

There are many similarities between dancing and skating. The balance, strength, creativity, skill and use of space certainly overlap both art forms. I have many great memories of my competitions, and I know what it takes to develop a skill to the elite competition level, so I am ready to watch and judge some great dancing! Plus, it’s kind of a thrill to be on the other side of the judges’ table!

This event is not only going to show off the dancers’ abilities and provide entertainment, it is going to do good things for the community as well. Inspire Inc. helps Fairfield County families, businesses and civic organizations promote emotional and mental well-being.

The Dancing with the Stars Event will be held this Saturday at the Fairfield Theater Company Warehouse in Fairfield. You can participate too! Click here to vote for your favorite Dancer. Each vote is $10 dollars and the proceeds benefit the many incredible programs Inspire offers to the community. This year the competing dancers are: Susan Bell, Michael Mitri, Brenda Kupchick, Steve Lanza, Christine McBride and Dana Scinto Colangelo. I can’t wait!
